A little tale of my adventure with Oregon Renaissance Faire 2025 😍

I bought tickets for the first weekend and was excited to go alone - so I could do whatever I pleased. And for one day, that's exactly what I did.

However, I'd also stumbled upon a merchant on Facebook offering cash wages for folks willing to help out at their booth for part of the time. I volunteered, they accepted, and I received a handy-dandy Vendor Pass. Eligible for entry and discounts - how lovely!

I let the merchant know I could help set up the day before Faire went public, as well as one other Sunday at least. I was so excited for the opportunity.

But come the first day I was set to help, I went - and the heat got to me. I wound up light headed and nauseous and had to turn around and go home so shortly after arriving to help. It was such a bummer, and I felt so bad to leave the merchant in a lurch. But I was hopeful to redeem myself on the next day I was scheduled to help them out.

In the meantime, I spent the rest of that day resting and hydrating because I had made arrangements to meet a friend at Faire the next day, and could not let the heat keep me less than 80% and stuck at home. I rallied, and off to Faire I went.

It was a little bit of a struggle. My appetite still hadn't recovered from the nausea fully so I was mostly eating crackers while my friend and their companions enjoyed traditional Faire bites. And they kept wanting to walk around to see all the vendors... when shopping (or standing or walking for that matter) were very low on my priority list. But I went along anyhow with a smile on my face, knowing this was their one day of Faire and I still had more opportunities to do the things I wanted to do.

And on my Day 3 of Faire adventures, that's exactly what I did. I sat and watched some performances, picked up some food (that my stomach could now tolerate, yay!), went to a different area to watch some other performances, and so my day proceeded. Huzzah!

Life went on as normal for a minute but I was still anticipating returning to Faire at least once more to assist that merchant. Two days before I was due to lend a hand, they texted me and said never mind! The person they usually have help them is available after all so no need for me.

And for the remaining weekends of when Faire was in town, I kept asking myself: is this the weekend I go again? But tiredness and lack of motivation kept me home.

Overall, I'm happy with this round of adventure.
